There are a few points to be addressed during a cosmetic consultation in order for the client to be fully satisfied after their procedure. Both the patient and the surgeon must understand the expectations of the patient regarding their surgery/treatment. If any of their expectations are unrealistic, the surgeon must point out to the patient why in order to avoid proceeding with the proposed procedure. The patient has to understand in detail the plan of treatment as well as the potential risks.
The patient must be advised of the recovery time and be provided with all the potential medical problems in detail. The patient should ask the surgeon about their experience regarding the procedure. The patient must receive detailed instructions on how to prepare for surgery as well as after surgery care. It is always helpful if the patient comes with written questions to ask during the consultation.
